Growing up & Amateur Golf
I was born on the 13th of October 1997 in Jávea, Spain to an English/Welsh father and an Indonesian/Chinese mother and grew up as a native speaker of both English and Spanish.
I started golf when I was 8 years old and instantly fell in love with the sport. From then until the age of 14 my parents drove me all over Spain to play in at least one tournament a week which I loved and never got tired of. My favorite place to play was always at my home course, La Sella Golf Resort. It was here where I watched my first ever women’s profesional event and remember wanting to get there before the first tee time and not wanting to leave until the last group had finished every day. This was the first time I thought about turning professional.
As an amateur I collected almost 200 trophies from a combination of weekend events, national and international tournaments including playing in 3 Faldo Series Grand Finals and representing my County on various occasions. I was very fortunate and had the support of Nike golf from the age of 9 without whom it would have been very difficult to cover costs for clubs, balls, apparel etc. Fast forward 15 years, we are still working together.
The Transition
From the age of 15 I started managing my own calendar as well as the logistics of travel which prepared me for all the organization needed when turning professional, this I did in November 2016 at the age of 19 after winning my last Regional amateur event the prize being 1000€ for tournament expenses which covered my entrance fee for my first ever LET Q School.
I finished tied 2nd in my first professional event which was played in Madrid on the Santander Golf Tour. During the ProAm of this event I met Antonio, the president of Preventiva Seguros. They became my first ever official sponsors. Seven years later, I am lucky enough to still be partnering with them.
During 2017 I played on the Santander Golf Tour, a full season on the Let Access Series and started my partnership with Wilson Staff who’s equipment I still use today. I’d recommend their clubs to anyone. I returned to Q School and gained a category on the Ladies European tour by shooting 6 under par during the fourth round. The LET Rookies Orientation was held at my home course, La Sella.
Life on Tour
During 2018 & 2019 I played mostly LET Access events and a few LET events. I also had various top 10 finishes on the Santander Golf Tour and won my first professional event. I loved competing but toward the end of 2019 I realized that I also wanted to be more involved in getting people into the sport that had given me so much and decided to start a FdSc in Professional Golf Studies together with the British PGA. At this time, I also gained full status on the Ladies European Tour. I travelled all over the world and combined studying with playing full time on the LET during 2020 & 2021.
New Beginnings
In 2022 I decided I needed a break from competitive golf and embarked on a new adventure in the USA where I was an Intern at Medinah Country Club and worked there a full season. This is where I got my real first taste of coaching and realized I loved it.
And Now…
I am now a fully qualified PGA professional and currently a full time Coach at GC Hammetweil, near Stuttgart.
Aside from completing the PGA, I have been very fortunate to have worked with different swing coaches throughout my career as well as competed which has lead me to understand the game to a deeper level.
Golf has given me endless opportunities from a very young age. It has allowed me to travel meeting hundreds of people around the world from different cultures and walks of life. Through this wonderful sport I have been able to connect with people and I have created long lasting friendships and everlasting memories.
Aside from competing when I can, I now wish to help others achieve their golfing goals and grow the game by getting more people of all genders and ages playing and enjoying this wonderful sport.
